Building a Brighter Future for Abington Middle School

At Abington School District, our dedicated teachers and staff empower every student to achieve their full potential. Learning and teaching in a modern, safe, and welcoming environment is essential to a quality education and a positive school culture.

Abington Middle School has served the community for over 60 years. As the building has aged, the challenges of maintaining it and enhancing student learning experiences have increased. Outdated infrastructure and a poor spatial layout create more obstacles to enhancing modern teaching methods and collaborative learning environments.

The District conducted a three-year planning process to assess Abington Middle School's needs. This process included research, assessments, operational and financial considerations, and extensive community input.

The District is committed to ensuring that school facilities match the quality and innovative education provided by teachers and staff while also adapting to meet the evolving needs of students and teaching methods in the future.

Based on research, expert analysis, and extensive community input, the District is proposing to build a new Middle School. This plan is centered on the needs of students and staff, reflects the community’s priorities, and provides long-term value for taxpayer investment in our school.

On Tuesday, May 20, Abington Township and Borough of Rockledge residents will vote on a referendum for a $285 million bond to build a new Middle School.
